The invention provides a car-pooling price calculating method and a server. The method comprises the steps: obtaining successful car-pooling orders, wherein the car-pooling orders comprise a first order of a first passenger and a second order of a second passenger, and the first passenger gets on a vehicle earlier than the second passenger; judging whether the first passenger has already arrived at a departure place of the second order or not; starting the timing operation after the first passenger arrives at the departure place of the second order till the second passenger gets on the vehicle, and obtaining the waiting time of the first passenger; and calculating the car-pooling discount amount of the first order if the waiting time is greater than a preset threshold value. According to the embodiment of the invention, the car-pooling discount amount corresponding to the passenger waiting for a car pooler in a car-pooling process is calculated so as to motivate the passengers to perform car-pooling and increase the number of persons who perform car-pooling, thereby reducing the energy cost, and alleviating the traffic jam and the environmental pollution.
