The method and the device are used for solving the problem that colour cast exists in a scene of an image after white balance adjustment due to the fact that white blocks determined when the white balance adjustment is carried out are inaccurate. The method comprises the steps of adjusting a white balance weight value of each white block according to scene luminance of a to-be-adjusted image and color temperature of each white block in the to-be-adjusted image, and assuming that the adjustment degree of the white balance weight values of the white blocks within different color temperature ranges in the white blocks is different when the scene luminance of the to-be-adjusted image is greater than first preset sceneluminance, wherein the white blocks are image blocks as white balance adjustment references in the to-be-adjusted image, and the white balance weight values are used for expressing weight of color channel values of the white blocks in white balance correction value calculation; determining white balance correction values through combination of the color channel values of the white blocks and the adjusted weight balance weight values of the white blocks; and carrying out white balance adjustment on the to-be-adjusted image according to the white balance correction values.
