Embodiment Construction

[0062] The inventors have discovered that food preparations used in certain food tests to identify trigger foods for patients diagnosed or suspected of having psoriasis do not necessarily predict or otherwise correlate with psoriasis symptoms Associated. Indeed, multiple experiments have revealed that across a very wide range of food items, certain food items are highly predictive / associated with psoriasis, while others are not statistically significantly associated with psoriasis .

[0063] Even more unexpectedly, the inventors discovered that in addition to the high variability in food items, sex differences in responses to the test also played an important role in determining the food item's association with psoriasis. Thus, based on the inventors' findings and additional assumptions, kits and methods are now provided that have significantly higher predictive power in selecting food items that can be excluded due to reduction of psoriasis signs and symptoms.

Abstract

Contemplated test kits and methods for food sensitivity are based on rational-based selection of food preparations with established discriminatory p-value. Exemplary kits include those with a minimumnumber of food preparations that have an average discriminatory p-value of <= 0.07 as determined by their raw p-value or an average discriminatory p-value of <= 0.10 as determined by FDR multiplicityadjusted p-value. In further contemplated aspects, compositions and methods for food sensitivity are also stratified by gender to further enhance predictive value.

Description

[0001] related application [0002] This application claims priority to US Provisional Patent Application Serial No. 62 / 270,578 filed December 21, 2015, which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The field of the subject matter disclosed herein is sensitivity testing for food intolerance, and in particular relates to testing and possibly ruling out symptoms as aggravating symptoms in patients diagnosed or suspected of having psoriasis. A selected food item of a food that is either exacerbated, or that, when the food is removed, alleviates the symptoms of a patient diagnosed or suspected of having psoriasis. Background technique [0004] This Background Description includes information that may be used in understanding the present disclosure.
