The invention discloses a data acquisition method comprising firstly grouping a plurality of electric energy meters according to a predefined rule; then polling and acquiring the target data of the electric energy meters in respective groups in real time, that is, obtaining the relevant data of the electric energy meters in respective groups at a time; finally, freezing the target data corresponding to a preset freezing time point of tail terminal devices, and sending the frozen target data to a distribution transformer terminal device for storage, wherein the distribution transformer terminaldevice and the tail terminal devices keep clock synchronization by a clock synchronization mechanism to ensure the synchronization of the preset freeze time points of the tail terminal devices. Compared with a conventional method just capable of obtaining the relevant data of one electric energy meter at a time, the method is shorter in acquisition time and high in frequency and success rate of acquiring the data of respective electric energy meters, thereby reducing a freezing time error of the electric energy meter data at a user side and improving the timeliness of exception handling. In addition, the present invention also discloses a data acquisition system having the above effect.
