Abstract

The present disclosure relates to resynchronization of sample rate converters. A device with a sample rate converter that can be programmed to generate samples at a different rate synchronizes to an external sync pulse by temporarily changing the sample rate to a temporary sample rate and then changing the sample rate back to the original sample rate. The reduced-time synchronization is achieved by determining the interval between the synchronization pulse and one of the output samples and determining the processing time of the means for generating the output samples at the new rate. The system calculates the temporary sampling rate from these calculations, which tend to reduce the amount of time to achieve synchronization.
