Embodiment Construction

[0019] Reference will now be made in detail to some embodiments of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

[0020] figure 1 Schematic diagram of a mobile communication network acquired for SI supporting reduced signaling costs according to a novel aspect. The mobile communication network 100 includes a user equipment UE 101 , a first base station eNB 102 , a second base station eNB 103 , and a packet core network (Core Network, CN) 105 . Multiple base stations communicate with each other through the X2 interface, and eNB 102 / 103 communicate with the CN 105 through the S1 interface. UE 101 can access application server and Internet 106 via wireless link 104 with eNB 102 / 103 and CN 105 . These eNBs may be implemented as eNB 102 in a conventional manner, or as eNB 103 including multiple transmission points (Transmission Points, TRPs). The wireless link 104 may specifically be a serving entity including a cell, a cell portion, a TRP, an...

Abstract

The present application proposes a system information (SI) acquisition method, user equipment and memory, using reduced signaling costs. In order to reduce signaling costs, it is necessary to reduce the total amount of periodic SI broadcasts and reduce the frequency of on-demand SI acquisition. To reduce the frequency of on-demand SI acquisition, instead of always reacquiring SI when the serving cell changes, the user equipment (UE) enables multiplexing of stored multiple SI information elements (IEs) across different cells. More specifically, a new concept of SI identifiers (IDs) is introduced to associate regions applying the same SI configuration. Based on the SI ID and validity check, if the stored multiple SI IEs are valid, the UE can multiplex the stored multiple SI IEs.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the present invention relate to network entry in a mobile communication network, and in particular to functions for processing system and configuration information. Background technique [0002] In the 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, the Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network, E-UTRAN) includes a plurality of base stations (Base Station, BS), for example, communicate with the user equipment (User Equipment) , Evolved Node B (evolved Node B, eNB) that communicates with multiple mobile stations (Mobile Station, MS) of UE). The serving base station and multiple UEs in the serving cell may communicate via broadcasting, for example, when the UE is in idle mode; or communicate via dedicated unicasting, for example, when the UE is in a connected (connected) mode. In a cellular (cellular) network, each serving cell periodically broadcasts its system configuration (configur...
