The invention provides a graph calculation method and system. The method comprises the steps of receiving graph data sent from a previous node by a calculation node, and determining whether the receiving of the graph data is completed or not according to an ending message sent from the previous node; performing graph calculation according to the graph data if that the receiving of the graph data is completed is determined by the calculation node, and detecting whether a calculated top point is converged or not after calculation is completed; and sending a calculation result of a top point which is not converged to a next calculation node if that the top point which is not converged exists is determined by the calculation node, and sending the ending message to the next calculation node after the sending of the calculation result is completed, wherein the previous node comprises a source node and a previous calculation node. According to the method, the calculation result is not neededto be fallen down to a middle part for storage during the iterative calculation process, a large amount of processing performance of the calculation node is saved, and the graph calculation rate alsocan be improved.
