The monitoring host unit receives optical fiber micro strain data of each sampling points in a lengthwise direction of a detected conductor and compares the optical fiber micro strain data of two adjacent sampling points to sound an alarm for an abnormal stress distribution situation on the conductor. The detection system provides reliable conductor core defect information for a conductor manufacturer, a line constructor and a line owner, so as to helpthe owner to check and accept a line and eliminate a potential safety hazard.
