[0024] Implementations of the present disclosure are directed to lighting systems connected over a wireless mesh network such that individual light sources are controllable using signals sent over the wireless mesh network. As a result, the lighting system allows control of each light source (eg on, off or at an intermediate brightness level) independently of the other light sources and independent of the electrical wiring of the space. Using a lighting system, the lighting of a large space (eg, a space illuminated by many separate light sources) can be customized such that each light source lighting the space has a personalized light level for each of many different user-defined scenes. Large spaces that may particularly benefit from lighting systems include commercial spaces (eg, offices), industrial spaces (eg, warehouses, factories), and other public spaces (eg, theaters, shopping malls, schools and universities, government buildings).
