Abstract

The method comprises the following steps: a traffic monitoring network management module monitors the exit traffic of a metropolitan area network, and inputs traffic monitoring data to the software defined network controller; the software defined network controller determines a traffic adjustment and optimization command according to the traffic monitoring data; the software defined network controller sends a border gateway protocol traffic specification message to a controlled device, wherein the border gateway protocol traffic specification message comprises the traffic adjustment and optimization command; the controlled device forwards the border gateway protocol traffic specification message to other core devices other than the controlled device in a backbone network; and the core devices schedule the traffic to new paths according to the traffic adjustment and optimization command so as to achieve traffic adjustment and optimization.
