Problems solved by technology

[0006] Imaging balloons can experience issues that affect the quality of the captured image
For example, tissue surface imaging balloons can produce poor or blurry images of tissue if the balloon is not pressed firmly against the tissue due to blood between the balloon and tissue

Embodiment Construction

[0037] Catheters with exudate balloons can be used for a variety of medical purposes. For example, in some embodiments, the exudate balloon is a device for catheter visualization. In some embodiments, an exudate balloon is used to deliver a therapeutic agent. Exuding balloons may include openings of a selected size and shape through which fluids gradually flow or "exudate". As described further below, the design of the apertures can affect performance characteristics such as, but not limited to, fluid flow, tear resistance, and backflow mitigation.

[0038]The balloon catheter visualization devices, systems, and methods provided herein may enable visualization of a balloon catheter at a target location, thereby providing anatomical and pathological identification and device placement visual feedback during the implementation of the minimally invasive method. Doctor user. The balloon catheter visualization devices, systems, and methods provided herein can include an elongate...

Abstract

Catheters with exudative balloons can be used for various medical purposes. For example, in some embodiments provided herein, a fluid-seeping balloon is a catheter visualization device. In some embodiments, a fluid-permeable balloon is used to deliver a therapeutic agent. A permeable balloon may include apertures of selected size and shape through which fluid gradually flows or "permeates". The design of the apertures can affect performance characteristics such as, but not limited to, fluid flow, tear resistance, and mitigation of reverse flow.

Description

[0001] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS [0002] This application claims priority under 35 U.S.C. § 119(e) to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 324,424, filed April 19, 2016, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated by reference in this article. technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates to medical devices, such as catheter-based exuding balloon devices. In one exemplary embodiment, the present disclosure relates to an exudate balloon catheter visualization device. The present disclosure also relates to various hole designs for exudate balloons. Background technique [0004] The presence and movement of opaque body fluids, such as blood, often makes in vivo imaging of tissue regions within a patient difficult. Accordingly, in some cases, medical devices may be used to visualize interior regions of a patient's body by drawing visual compositions. For example, ultrasound devices can be used to generate in vivo ultrasound images from insi...
