Abstract

The invention provides a drive device. The drive device rotates a wheel and has a motor portion, a speed reduction mechanism, an output portion, a first bearing, and a second bearing. The motor portion has a motor shaft disposed along a central axis. The speed reduction mechanism is coupled to one side in the axial direction of the motor shaft. The output portion is located on one side in the axial direction of the motor portion, and the rotation of the motor shaft is transmitted to the output portion via the speed reduction mechanism. The first bearing and the second bearing support the output portion to be rotatable about the central axis. The motor portion has a rotor having a motor shaft, a stator opposed to the rotor in the radial direction with a gap therebetween, and a casing accommodating the rotor and the stator. The casing has a fixing portion on the other side in the axial direction, and the fixing portion is fixed to a chassis of a traveling body on which the drive device is mounted.
