Abstract

The invention provides a road expansive soil roadbed deformation estimation method based on humidity balance. Through ingenious design, 1) a two-dimensional finite element numerical analysis model ofexpansive soil roadbed humidity change is established; 2) the change rule of the humidity field of an edge-covered expansive soil embankment within the designed service life is predicted by adopting adamp-heat coupling calculation method of unsaturated soil, not only different cross section types of the embankment and the underground water level are considered, the change rule of the humidity inthe embankment along with time and space is also considered; 3) the expansion coefficient can consider the initial water content and the initial dry density of the soil sample; and 4) the invention provides a wet expansion deformation formula which can consider the initial stress state and the final stress state of the subgrade and is more in line with the actual working state of the subgrade.
