Embodiment Construction

[0053] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In addition, in the drawings of this specification, in order to facilitate understanding of the drawings, scales, vertical and horizontal dimensional ratios, and the like are exaggerated as appropriate from the actual objects.

[0054] figure 1 is a diagram showing a display device 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. figure 1 The display device 10 includes a projector 20 that emits coherent light, a screen 40 on which the coherent light emitted from the projector 20 is projected, and a first optical system 1 . As will be described later, the screen 40 can change the diffuse wavefront of the emitted light over time, thereby making the speckles less conspicuous.

[0055]Projector 20 projects light forming an image, that is, image light, onto screen 40 . In the illustrated example, the projector 20 has a coherent light source 21 that oscillates coheren...

Abstract

A display device provided with a projector (20) which emits coherent light; a screen (40) onto which the coherent light emitted from the projector is projected; and a first optical system which guidestransmitted light or diffused light from the screen in the viewing direction of a viewer, and causes the viewer to view a real image or a virtual image of an image projected onto the screen, whereinthe screen (40) comprises a plurality of particles (60) including a first part and a second part, a particle layer (55) having the plurality of particles, and electrodes (41, 42) which form an electric field for driving the particles of the particle layer by the application of voltage to the particle layer, thereby enabling speckles on the screen to be less easily visually recognized.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a display device with a projector and a screen. Background technique [0002] Projectors using coherent light sources are widely used (see Patent Document 1: International Publication No. 2012 / 033174 pamphlet, Patent Document 2: Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2008-310260). As the coherent light, typically, a laser beam oscillated from a laser light source is used. In the case where image light from a projector is formed by coherent light, spots of light are observed on the screen on which the image light is irradiated. The flare is recognized as a speckle pattern, degrading the display quality. In Patent Document 1, for the purpose of reducing flare, the incident angle of image light incident on each position on the screen changes with time. As a result, an irrelevant scattering pattern is superimposed on the screen, thereby reducing flare. Contents of the invention [0003] As another method for reducing speckle, it is co...
