Embodiment Construction

[0031] figure 1 A motor vehicle is schematically shown traveling along an on-ramp to a highway in plan view. The motorway 1 shown includes a plurality of lanes 2 in the present exemplary embodiment. The shown on-ramp 3 to the highway 1 includes only one lane. As an alternative to the exemplary embodiment shown, the on-ramp 3 may also comprise a plurality of lanes. The motorway 1 has a roadway boundary in the region of an on-ramp 3 in the form of a crash barrier 4 . The on-ramp 3 also includes a crash barrier 5 . The crash barriers 4 and 5 meet at the transition of the on-ramp 3 in a roadway region 7 which runs parallel to the roadway 2 of the roadway 1 .

[0032] The crash barriers 4 and 5 form an acute angle α in plan view in the region of the crash barrier meeting point 6 . Region 7 of roadway 3 , in which roadway 3 runs parallel to roadway 1 , represents the region in which vehicles 10 traveling on on-ramp 3 can or must merge into lane 2 of roadway 1 . The direction o...

Abstract

It is determined that (a) a first vehicle is driving on a curve on a first road or, (b) by detecting a second road, a road boundary of the first road. It is further determined that there is (c) parallel traffic by determining that a second vehicle is moving in a lane of the second road adjacent to the first road, or (d) tangential traffic by detecting a third vehicle is moving tangentially to thecurve. Upon determining that there is simultaneously at least one of (a) the first vehicle driving on the curve on the first road or (b) the road boundary of the first road, and at least one of (c) parallel traffic or (d) tangential traffic, then it is determined that the first vehicle is driving on an on-ramp.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for determining the movement of a vehicle on an on-ramp. The invention also relates to a device for determining the movement of a vehicle on an on-ramp. Background technique [0002] Driver assistance systems assist the driver to improve driving comfort and safety while driving. In this case, the properties of the corresponding vehicle environment are important input variables for the individual functions available. With regard to driver assistance systems, in particular Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS, Advanced Driver Assistance System), features or properties of the roadway and the environment may be features that adapt the corresponding ADAS function to the roadway or environment with respect to the upcoming maneuver s reason. [0003] For example, if the driver wishes to enter a tight gap, exactly depending on whether the driver is on a highway on-ramp or not, the function of the lane change assist can ...
