Abstract

The invention provides a drive device for a vehicle, which can properly transmit the drive force of a motor to an output shaft. A vehicle drive device (1) transmits drive force to an output shaft (5).A vehicle drive device (1) is provided with a housing (10), an electric motor (13), a torque converter (15), and a rotation transmission structure (17). An electric motor (13) is provided with: a first stator (21) affixed to a housing (10); and a rotor (22) configured to be rotatable with respect to the first stator (21). When the rotor (22) rotates in a first rotational direction, the torque converter (15) transmits rotation of the rotor (22) to the output shaft (5). When the rotor (22) rotates in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction, the rotation transmissionstructure (17) transmits rotation of the rotor (22) to the output shaft (5).
