The seismic performance gradient pier studcomprises a concrete pier stud, a steel reinforcement and a gradient reinforcement, wherein the steel reinforcement is configured in the pier stud, and the gradient reinforcement is configured in a gradient manner. The gradient reinforcement is a fiber reinforcement or a shape memory alloy reinforcement. Through continuous or gradient change of the section area of the gradient reinforcement, theseismic performance gradient is formed in the pier stud. During construction, the size and implementation mode of the seismic performance gradient are determined according to an earthquake stress state of the pier stud so that the curvatures of other sections of a seismic performance gradient area are not larger than the ultimate curvature before the top section of a seismic performance gradient area reaches ultimate curvature. According to the seismic performance gradient pier stud, the performance gradient areas of the pier stud can simultaneously reach a plastic state under the action of anearthquake; and a plastic deformation area of the pier stud constructed by using the construction method is greatly enlarged so that the deformation performance, energy consumption capacity and the like can be greatly improved; and therefore, the earthquake peak accelerated speed which can be resisted is greatly increased.
