Abstract

A method and system for deploying a networked device equipped with an auto-provisioning mode capability and having an installed version of an operating system and associated packages in a data center connected to a network. The method includes the steps of: a-defining target versions of the operating system and associated packages applicable to the data center; b-maintaining a list of available and supported operating system versions and associated packages including the target version of the operating system c-connect to the network and power on the networked device; and d-compare the version of the operating system installed on the networked device with a target version of the operating system.
