The method comprises steps of acquiring the traffic flow and the vehicle queuing length of at least two target lanes in an entrance lane; determining the saturation of each target lane according to the traffic flow of each target lane, and determining the saturation steeringimbalance degree and the vehicle queuing length steering imbalance degree of the at least two target lanes according to the saturation degree of each target lane and the vehicle queuing length; according to the saturation degree, the vehicle queuing length, the saturation degree steering imbalance degree and the vehicle queuing length steering imbalance degree, checking whether the passing direction of the variable guide lane needs to be switched from the first direction to the second direction or not; if yes, controlling the passage direction of the variable guide lane to be switched from the first direction to the second direction.
