The embodiment of the invention provides a surface wave pressing method and device. The method comprises the following steps: grouping common shot gathers in acquired seismic data to obtain super shotgathers; determining surface wave characteristic information in the super shot set; according to the surface wave characteristic information, determining surface wave frequency domain energy in a super shot set transformed to a frequency domain; converting the surface wave frequency domain energy into surface wave time domain energy; determining a surface wave in the surface wave time domain energy by utilizing the surface wave characteristic information; and removing surface waves from the super shot set. By utilizing the embodiment of the invention, suppression of surface waves in seismic waves can be realized, and the signal-to-noise ratio of seismic data is improved.
