The embodiment of the invention relates to a video editing method and device, electronic equipment, a system and a storage medium. The method comprises the following steps: establishing a video editing project in response to a video editing request of a client; wherein participants of the video editing project are at least two clients; wherein the video editing project comprises at least one videomaterial; obtaining an editing operation of a current editing client for the video material, and locking the video material which is executing the editing operation; updating a video editing projectaccording to an editing operation result of the video material; and if the editing operation of the video material is finished, unlocking the video material for other clients to edit the video material. According to the method, the problem of multi-person online parallel video editing is solved, multi-person cross-region online collaborative video editing can be realized, the video editing efficiency is improved, and diversified and personalized requirements of users are met.
