Embodiment Construction

[0018] Stabilization mechanisms for image capture devices have physical limitations in terms of structure vibration conducted noise, acoustic noise, or a combination thereof, resulting in poor audio quality during image capture. The present disclosure describes an improved motor design and microphone design that reduces structural vibration conducted noise and acoustic noise of the stabilization mechanism.

[0019] Embodiments disclosed herein will now be described in detail with reference to figures provided as illustrative examples to enable those skilled in the art to practice the technology. The figures and examples below are not meant to limit the scope of the present disclosure to a single implementation or example, but other implementations and implementations can be achieved by interchanging or combining some or all of the described or illustrated elements example. Wherever convenient, the same reference numbers will be used throughout the drawings to refer to the sam...

Abstract

A handheld image stabilization device may each include a housing, a motor assembly, a microphone, a dampener, or any combination thereof. The housing may include a first port. The motor assembly may be attached to the housing. The motor assembly may include a plurality of motors. Each motor may include a coil assembly, a ring surrounding the coil assembly, magnets adhered to the ring, and a shaftconfigured to generate a non-overlapping natural resonance with an operating frequency of the motor. The microphone may be configured to detect audio waves via the first port, vibration noise of the motors via the housing, or both. The audio waves may include acoustic noise from the motors. The dampener may be coupled to the housing. The dampener may be configured to reduce the acoustic noise fromthe motors, the vibration noise from the motors, or both.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to audio enhancement in motor driven devices. Background technique [0002] Stabilization mechanisms used with image capture devices have physical limitations with respect to structure vibration conducted noise, acoustic noise, or a combination thereof, resulting in poor audio quality during image capture. A typical stabilization mechanism is configured with an electric motor with a solid shaft. When energized, the solid shaft vibrates in natural resonance, causing unwanted noise from wind displacement pressure and conducted noise from vibration. Noise from wind displacement pressure may be referred to as acoustic noise. Conducted noise from vibrations may be referred to as structure-borne noise. In particular, acoustic noise occurs when the natural resonance of the solid shaft overlaps with the operating frequency of the motor.
