Abstract

Described is a battery system including a system controller connected to a controller area network, CAN, bus and a plurality of stations respectively connected to nodes of the CAN bus. When a first station that is one of the plurality of stations detects that a first battery pack has been coupled with the first station, the first station transmits a first detection signal to the system controller. The system controller provides a first wake-up signal for waking up the first battery pack to the first station, in response to the first detection signal. The first station wakes up a first battery controller of the first battery pack in response to the first wake-up signal. The system controller transmits, via the CAN bus, a command for allocating a first identifier, ID, corresponding to the first station to the first battery controller being woken up and having a default ID.
