The drainage system comprises a hollow water box, a water supply pipe communicating with the upper portion of the water box, an outer drainage pipe communicating with the lower portion of the water box and an inner drainage pipe; the upper end of the outer drainage pipe extends into the water box and protrudes into the water box, and the lower end of the outer drainage pipe is provided with a drainage port; a water inlet communicating with the outer barrel of the washing machine is formed in the lower end of the inner drainage pipe; the drainage port is lower than the water inlet; and the upper end of the outer drainage pipe is higher than the highest water level of the outer barrel of the washing machine.
