Abstract

The present disclosure provides an apparatus for monitoring a surrounding environment of a vehicle and a non-transitory computer readable medium. The apparatus for monitoring the surrounding environment of the vehicle provides an image of the surrounding environment of the vehicle to allow a driver to more easily monitor the surrounding environment of the vehicle. The equipment for monitoring the surrounding environment of the vehicle comprises an imaging device and a processing device, wherein the imaging device is used for acquiring an original image in at least one direction around the vehicle; an image processor configured to extract a monitoring image corresponding to a setting area in the original image; and an image display that outputs the extracted monitoring image. The image processor is configured to display, on the monitoring image, a guide map indicating a relative positional relationship between the original image and the monitoring image.
