[0034]Disclosed herein are several embodiments of a catheter delivery system, such as a catheter delivery system including a steerable sheath for guiding and delivering an implantable lead. The sheath may include one or more electrodes for identifying fixation sites along tissue. Typically, the tip portion of the lead may include an anchor to secure the lead to tissue (eg, the wall of a beating heart). As described herein, the sheath may include various release features for removing the sheath from the lead while the lead is secured to tissue. Details of various embodiments of the present disclosure are described below with specific reference to the accompanying drawings.
