Embodiment Construction

[0040] The present disclosure generally relates to a heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) system. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to lubricant management for compressors in HVACR systems.

[0041] The environmental impact of HVACR refrigerants is a growing concern. For example, since 2011 the European Union has been phasing out refrigerants with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of more than, say, 150 (in certain refrigeration systems). Environmentally suitable HVACR refrigerants with suitable properties (such as density, vapor pressure, heat of vaporization) and suitable chemical properties, meeting the requirements regarding safety and environmental impact (such as the above-mentioned EU standards) can be used in HVACR systems. Environmentally suitable HVACR refrigerants are non-flammable or mildly flammable, non-ozone depleting, energy efficient, low in toxicity, compatible with construction materials, and chemically stable thro...

Abstract

Systems and methods for lubricant management of a compressor in an HVACR system are disclosed. A heat transfer circuit providing heating or cooling with a working fluid includes a compressor for compressing the working fluid and a heat source configured to increase a suction temperature of the working fluid entering the compressor. One or more lubricant rheological properties in the compressor system based on measurements at or near the compressor bearing cavity are determinable. The lubricant reservoir may be in thermal communication with the discharge flow path of the compressor. An internal heat exchanger may be disposed within the compressor for increasing the viscosity of lubricant to be circulated back into the compressor. The heater may be located on the fluid line between the lubricant separator and the lubricant inlet. The condenser fan can be controlled.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of a patent with an application date of November 29, 2019, an application number of "201980090993.7", and a patent titled "Lubricant Management for HVACR Systems". technical field [0002] The present disclosure generally relates to a heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) system. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to lubricant management for compressors in HVACR systems. Background technique [0003] Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) systems typically include a compressor. Compressors such as, but not limited to, screw compressors and scroll compressors utilize bearings to support a rotating shaft. Bearings often include a lubricant system. If the bearings are not properly lubricated, the bearings, and ultimately the compressor, can fail before the expected life of the bearings. Contents of the invention [0004] The present disclosure generally r...
