Embodiment Construction

[0039] figure 1 A diagnostic device 2 is shown on an electrical device (not shown), such as an electrical protection device or an electrical measuring device. For example, an electrical device may be a circuit breaker.

[0040] The electrical equipment is configured to be associated with an electrical installation 4, eg a distribution installation.

[0041] An electrical installation includes one or more phase conductors designed to carry AC current.

[0042] In the example shown, the electrical installation 4 comprises three phase conductors (denoted Ip1 , Ip2 and Ip3 ) for carrying three phase currents and a neutral conductor (denoted IpN), which will hereinafter correspond to the phase conductors.

[0043] This example is non-limitative and as a variant the number of phase conductors can be different. Phase conductors associated with neutral IpN may be omitted.

[0044] The electrical device comprises a first set of current sensors 6, each coupled to a phase conductor I...

Abstract

A method for identifying a faulty current sensor in an electrical device in which a power supply of the electrical device is provided at least in part by a switched mode power supply circuit connected to at least one current sensor that samples a current in a phase conductor of the electrical device, the power supply circuit delivers a regulated voltage, wherein the method comprises the steps of:-determining (S100) a switching duty cycle of a power switch of the switched mode power supply; -analyzing (S102) the determined switching duty cycle; -identifying (S104) a fault condition if the behavior of the switch duty cycle represents a fault of the at least one current sensor.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method and system for identifying fault current sensors in electrical equipment. [0002] The invention relates more particularly to the field of electrical protection devices and / or electrical measuring devices, such as those used in electrical distribution installations, in particular in installations for distributing AC current. Background technique [0003] Such electrical devices are usually associated with one or more phase conductors of an electrical installation in order to be able to interrupt the current flow in these phase conductors, for example in the event of an electrical fault. [0004] In a known manner, some of these devices can be at least partially powered by the current flowing in the phase conductors. These devices are called self-powered. The current required for the operation of the electrical equipment can be sampled, for example, by current sensors such as current transformers mounted aroun...
