Abstract

A solar power system for use with a mechanized irrigation system is provided. According to a first preferred embodiment, the solar power system of the present invention comprises a solar panel that generates a direct current for powering an irrigation system and storing water in an elevated storage tank. The system of the present invention selectively uses water stored in an elevated storage tank to provide water pressure for an irrigation system. According to another preferred embodiment, the system of the present invention preferably converts power from a solar panel into an alternating current and uses the alternating current to power the irrigation system and other subsystems in a mobile manner.
