Abstract

The invention discloses an illumination system and a projection device using the illumination system. The illumination system is used for providing an illumination light beam and comprises a blue light source, a red light source, a wavelength conversion device, a first light splitting element, a light filtering device and a light uniformizing element. The blue light source is used for providing a blue excitation beam. The red light source provides a red light beam. The wavelength conversion device is used for converting the blue excitation light beam into an excited light beam. The first light splitting element is used for enabling one of the blue excitation light beam and the excited light beam to pass through and reflecting the other. The light filtering device comprises a light filtering area. The light filtering device is located between the first light splitting element and the light uniformizing element, the blue excitation light beam, the excited light beam and the red light beam are sequentially transmitted to the light filtering device and the light uniformizing element to form an illumination light beam, and the excited light beam and the red light beam pass through the light filtering area at different time sequences.
