Abstract

An electrical connector includes an insulative base and a pair of contacts mounted within the base secured together by a fastener. Each conductive contact includes a flat body portion, a plurality of resilient finger portions extending from a first end of the body portion, and a connector extending from the body portion to couple the conductive contact to the base. A first deflection region between the fastener and the first ends of the plurality of resilient fingers allows the plurality of resilient fingers to deflect in a lateral direction to receive the conductive member within the receiving space. A second deflection region between the first ends of the plurality of elastic fingers and the second end of the body portion allows the body portion and the plurality of elastic fingers to deflect in the transverse direction when the conductive member is received within the receiving space but not aligned with the receiving space.
