Abstract

The present invention integrates a filter system into a reciprocating piston pump (10). Because the overall size is smaller, less energy is required to vary the pressure through the system, thus improving overall efficiency compared to existing designs. The invention is a filter element (29) inserted into and integrated with the upper housing (33) of the pump (10), said filter element (29) inserted into and combined with the pump (10) unit (33). The filter element (29) is inserted in its own cavity and held in place by upper and lower connectors (23, 27) threadedly engaged with the pump's housing (33).
