Abstract

An antenna is provided to simplify configuration of the antenna, and reduce size of the antenna by reducing the distance between an antenna element and a conductive cap and a conductive member. An antenna(16) comprises an antenna element(11); a cover(15) serving as an insulating cylinder portion covering an outer surface of the antenna element; a conductive cap(14) arranged on the cylinder portion; an electrostatic discharge suppressing unit arranged between the cap and the antenna element so as to suppress discharge of static electricity between the cap and the antenna element; and an insulating core unit(12) for supporting the antenna element at a surface thereof. The electrostatic discharge suppressing unit includes a concave portion(12A) formed between the antenna element and the cap, and a convex portion(15A) fitted to the concave portion.
