no. 1 example 》

[0077] figure 1 The structure of the backlight of this embodiment is schematically shown.

[0078] Such as figure 1 As shown in , a surface emitting device which is an organic EL device 3 has a light extraction surface 31 . The light extraction element and the optical device are arranged on the light extraction surface 31 , the light extraction element is the light extraction sheet 1 , and the optical device is the prism sheet 2 .

[0079]

[0080] As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 , the light extraction sheet 1 has a first incident surface 11 in contact with the light extraction surface 31 of the organic EL device 3 . A first protrusion 13 is formed on a side of the light extraction sheet 1 opposite to the first incident surface 11 . The shape of the first protrusions 13 is a square pyramid of the same size and shape. The bottom surface 13 a of each first protrusion 13 is included in an imaginary plane 10F substantially parallel to the first incident surface 11 .

no. 2 example 》

[0196] Such as Figure 16 As shown in , the backlight according to the second embodiment has the light extraction sheet 1 provided on the light extraction surface 31 of the organic EL device 3 . The first optical device, that is, the first prism sheet 5 is disposed on the light extraction sheet 1 . The second optical device, that is, the second prism sheet 6 is disposed on the first prism sheet 5 .

[0197] The organic EL device 3 and the light extraction sheet 1 of this embodiment are the same as those of the first embodiment except that one or both of the protrusions and grooves on the light extraction sheet 1 are in the shape of a rectangular pyramid or a rectangular truncated pyramid. Also, since the organic EL device 3 and the light extraction sheet 1 of this embodiment can be modified in the same way as the first embodiment, descriptions of these modified examples with respect to the second embodiment are omitted. Next, the mechanism (operation) of the prism sheets 5, ...

Abstract

A light extracting sheet is provided on a light extracting surface of an organic EL device. A prism sheet is provided on the light extracting sheet. The light extracting sheet has a first incident surface contacting the light extracting surface and a light exit surface located at an opposite side from the first incident surface. The light exit surface defines a plurality of first projections. Each of the first projections is pyramid. The prism sheet has a second incident surface that is substantially parallel to the light extracting surface and a light exit surface located at an opposite side from the second incident surface. The light exit surface defines a plurality of second projections. Each of the second projections is pyramid.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a lighting device comprising optical means for changing the optical path of received light. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, there are currently surface-emitting devices having isotropic light-emitting properties, such as organic electroluminescent devices (organic EL devices) and inorganic electroluminescent devices (inorganic EL devices). And, lighting equipments, such as lighting systems and displays, having such surface light emitting devices are proposed. [0003] Conventional surface-emitting devices and lighting devices with surface-emitting devices are known to have low extraction efficiencies. will refer to Figure 19 explain why. [0004] Figure 19 An organic EL device 300 is shown, which is a bottom emission type surface light emitting device. The organic EL device 300 has a transparent substrate 320 including a light extraction surface 310 . On the surface opposite to the light extraction surface 3...
