[0035] The foregoing first object is achieved by the present embodiment and the following second embodiment. For a better understanding of the examples, refer to the figure 1 As shown in the conventional toner container, as shown in the figure, four toner containers 20 are arranged side by side in the casing 50 of the full-color image forming apparatus, and each toner container includes a bag, not shown, containing Toners are made of resin, paper, or similar flexible sheets. The bag is housed in a rigid box, with the toner containers 20 adjacent to each other at a minimum distance in order to save the limited space available in the device.

[0036] However, the conventional structure has a problem in that the side-by-side arrangement of the toner containers 20 is difficult to handle. This is true even when the size of the toner container 20 has been small enough for a person to operate with one hand. This problem can be solved if the handle is provided on the top of each to...

[0056] refer to Figure 9 Another embodiment of the present invention is described. Outer port member 23' and inner port member 24' are fixed at the bottom center of bag 22 as shown. Form the port part. The port 23' and end 24' are made of polyethylene, nylon or similar resin and bonded to each other.

[0057] The outer port element 23' and the inner port element 24' comprise an upwardly extending sleeve 25 and 26 at the center, respectively. The sleeve 25 surrounds the sleeve 26 in a double-layer structure. Bag 22 is bonded or otherwise secured to sleeve 24'. A toner outlet passage 27 protrudes through the sleeve 26 . A closing device 30 as a self-closing valve is provided in the toner outlet passage 27 . When the two port members 23' and 24' are molded integrally with each other, such a molding makes it difficult to fill the bag 22 with toner through the passage 27 due to the closing means 30. In this embodiment, the bag 22 is filled with toner before the port member ...

[0080] This embodiment mainly achieves the above-mentioned second and third objects. Figure 13 Shown is an embodiment of an image forming apparatus including a toner delivery pump. As shown, the present embodiment includes a process cartridge 118 movably mounted on an apparatus housing (not shown). The process cartridge 118 includes a single casing 119 . The photosensitive drum 102 that specifically forms an image carrier is rotatably provided on a separate housing 119 . A drive mechanism located on the device housing, not shown, makes the photosensitive drum 102 rotate clockwise, as Figure 13 indicated by the middle arrow. A charging roller 120, which specifically forms a charger, is also rotatably mounted on the separate housing 119, and contacts the photosensitive drum 102 as it rotates. The charging roller 120 uniformly charges the surface of the photosensitive drum 102 with a preselected polarity.

Abstract

An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a mount portion in which a toner container is expected to be set from above. When the toner container set in the mount portion runs out of toner, a spring causes the toner container to hop up away from a position where it is set. This promotes easy handling of the toner container in a limited space available in the apparatus. In addition, a toner conveying pump as claimed comprises a tubular stator and a rotor. To prevent toner from cohering in the form of lumps because of frictional heat, the rotor is either made of resin containing a lubricant for reducing friction, or it includes a metallic surface for improving heat radiation away from the pump.

Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of the invention patent application of the invention titled "image forming device and its toner container", the application date is May 8, 2001, the application number is 01121208.X, and the applicant is Ricoh Corporation. technical field [0002] The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus, especially a printer, a facsimile apparatus or an electrophotography-like image forming apparatus, and a toner container thereof. In addition, the present invention relates to a toner delivery pump comprising a tubular stator having a spiral groove and a rotor extending helically so that a toner delivery space is formed between the stator and the rotor. Background technique [0003] It is common practice in image forming apparatuses to use a cartridge, bottle or similar rigid container as a toner container for storing toner. However, the hard toner container presents many problems when the toner container is replaced and...
