Abstract

A rubbish receptacle or bin (1) including a container (4) with an uppermost lid (6) which is connected to the container by a pivot connection (14) about an axis so that it can assume, by being pivoted about its pivot connection, a closed position with respect to an otherwise open top of the container (4) and in a further open position whereby access for introduction of rubbish into the container can be achieved, characterised in that there is a compactor (8) which is located so as to be below the lid (6) when the lid is in a closed position with respect to the otherwise open top of the container (4).

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a refuse pressing cover assembly for a refuse bin or a refuse bin with a refuse pressing device. Background technique [0002] Previous attempts have been made to design litter bins with lids that include means for compressing the contents of the bins. There are several examples in prior patent specifications, eg patent WO97 / 43196 (not considered to be common general knowledge) which discloses such a litter box.
