[0022]Referring now to the drawings, FIG. 1 shows the preferred embodiment of the portable hygiene kit, the present invention generally indicated by the numeral 10. The portable hygiene kit 10 comprising a washcloth 12, a pouch 18 and a sealed water bag 32. The washcloth 12 is adapted to have a width 14 and a length 16. The washcloth 12 can be constructed of a cloth material and is adequately sized to facilitate wiping of parts of the body. The washcloth 12 has a built in pouch 18 with a bottom layer 20. The bottom layer 20 of the pouch 18 is connected to a water resistant sheet 22. The water resistant sheet 22 is bonded to the bottom layer 20 of the pouch 18 along the perimeter 38 of said pouch 18. The water resistant sheet 22 prevents the pouch 18 from becoming moistened. The water resistant sheet 22 can be constructed of a plastic material.

Abstract

An improved portable hygiene kit comprising a washcloth, pouch and a sealed water bag is presented. The washcloth features a built in pouch which is layered with a water resistant sheet. For use, a person would release the water either by performing a hand twisting action or bending to cause the sealed water bag to rupture and release the water into the absorbent side of the washcloth. The user can also fold the edges of the washcloth and twist the sealed water bag in order to release the water. The user can subsequently clean his or her face, hands, and body with the dampened washcloth. After washing the user can then use the dry portion of the pouch to dry parts of the body.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0001]Keeping clean and removing dirt from various parts of the body are necessary for good health. Every year millions of people, mostly children, die from diseases associated with sanitation and hygiene. These children are often located in areas that lack access to clean running water and adequate supplies to clean themselves. In emergency situations such as earthquakes or war many, individuals are left without a method of cleaning themselves. Often times, water sources are disconnected and there is no flowing water. It is difficult to obtain access to barrels of water, run clean water or to establish a connection to a clean water source.[0002]A variety of products have been used to clean the body during emergency situations.
