[0019]FIG. 1 illustrates one embodiment of Applicant's downhole tool 10 with a number of novel features and functional advantages. Downhole tool 10 is intended to be used in completion of oil and gas wells and, in some embodiments, for isolating a zone to be fraced. Downhole tool 10 comprises a cylindrical, thin walled and short mandrel 12 that has a bore 32 therethrough for selectively allowing the passage, when in a set position of a fluid therethrough, as set forth in more detail below. Coupled to mandrel 12 is seen bottom shoe 14, which may be engaged, as by threads or other means, to the lower end of mandrel 12 and includes a bottom shoe bore 38 therethrough, bottom shoe bore 38 being in fluid communication with mandrel bore 32.
