Method and apparatus for selective engagement of shelf divider structures within a shelf management system

Apparatus and method for selectively engaging and securing an array of shelf dividers to a mounting device which is securable to a display shelf. In the first form a divider is characterized by a divider structure having an elongated vertical wall and elongated horizontal base that operates to divide, organize and support the displayed merchandise. A resilient latch located on the underside of the base of the divider structure selectively engages and secures the divider structure onto a mounting device comprising a receiving member running longitudinally along the length of the surface of the mounting device which is securable along the front edge of a display shelf. The latch and the receiving member each comprise reciprocating (i.e. complementary) protrusions to allow the cooperative engagement of the divider structure and mounting device, thus locking the divider member to and unlocking the divider member from the mounting device to permit the repositioning of the display as desired without necessitating removal of the merchandise from the display. In addition when the divider structure and mounting device are fully engaged, a second protrusion on the underside of the divider member cooperates with a flange or lip on the mounting device to prevent lateral movement of the divider structure and maintain the position of the divider perpendicular to the mounting device and the front edge of the shelf. In a second embodiment, the divider structure comprises a pusher track and a spring urged pusher assembly to automatically push merchandise to the front of the shelf. Another embodiment comprises a divider base without a vertical divider wall, and with or without a pusher track and spring urged pusher assembly, thus pushers and dividers can be used in various convenient combinations within a shelf management system.

Fixed and mobile video traffic enforcement

A system and method providing a police officer the ability to capture and review traffic violations observed using one or more strategically located cameras. The system incorporates a database of state and local motor vehicle laws and when the officer determines a violation has occurred the system automatically fills in the relevant statute or code for the violation, the correct legal language describing the violation, and the fine for that violation. Driver's license and vehicle information is also automatically filled in. The officer can override the issuance of a citation and indicate that only a warning or Reminder be issued instead. The citation, warning or Reminder notice is saved in the system for further processing and subsequent mailing. The system now transmits the citation, warning or Reminder notice data to servers at the service provider for mailing, the municipal department which collects the fines, as well as the police department's traffic division, for inclusion in their respective databases. This reduces paperwork, and data entry processing, further saving time and expense. Whether a citation, warning or Reminder notice is issued, the system and method of the invention significantly expand the area of coverage of a police officer in monitoring traffic and detecting violations, and allows the officer to issue more citations, warnings or Reminders within a given time period than is now possible. This makes the officer more efficient and potentially increases revenue because of the issuance of more citations. More importantly, it makes drivers more conscious of their actions and promotes vehicular safety.

Debugging apparatus and method

A debugging apparatus includes: a processor core operated by a program stored in a program memory to read a data stored in a data memory or write a data; a debugger controller for performing a debugging on the processor core upon receipt of a command from a host computer and outputting a data break point address; and a memory break controller for observing an address of a data memory used by the processor core, recognizing an address as a break point address to output a break signal to the debugger controller and the processor core to suspend the operation of the processor core, when the address is sensed to be identical, and transmitting a corresponding address and data to the host computer through the debugger controller. Since an address and a data of a specific data memory are monitored to recognize a data flow and change of the specific address, an error that an erroneous calculation is inputted a during processing or a data memory is erroneously assigned is quickly sensed. Thus, a time and an expense for a debugging operation can be much saved. In addition, by adding a data debugging method to the conventional program debugging method, a program development environment is set similar to an environment substantially operated by the processor. Thus, a time and an expense for developing a program can be also saved.
