The invention relates to petroleum drilling exploitation equipment, in particular to a single-slip large diameter bridge plug comprising an upper connector, a one-way gear whole slip, a central pipe, a rubber cylinder, a conic body and a guiding shoe. The central pipe is of an axial hollow structure, and the outer wall of the central pipe is sleeved with the rubber cylinder. The cross section of the bottom of the conic body is conic, and the conic body is wedged into a gap between the one-way gear whole slip and the central pipe. An inner cavity of the upper portion of the central pipe is provided with a variable-diameter cavity for placing a soluble ball. The inner diameter of the variable-diameter cavity is decreased from top to bottom. Four grooves are uniformly formed in the lower end of the central pipe. Bosses matched with the grooves are arranged inside the one-way gear whole slip in the circumferential direction and inside the lower end of the guiding shoe in the circumferential direction. The soluble ball can be dissolved in an electrolyte solution. Meanwhile the invention discloses a setting method of the single-slip large diameter bridge plug.
