A detachable vase for separately filling water and retaining plants comprises a lower water-filled bottle body for receiving water; and an upper side of the lower water-filled bottle body having a first connect unit; and an upper bottle body for receiving plants or flowers; the upper connect unit connected to the lower water-filled bottle body; a lower side of the upper bottle body having a second connect unit which can be engaged to the first connect unit. The upper bottle body includes at least two sub-bodies which are engageable to one another. The vase is divided into a first and a second bottle bodies. The lower water-filled bottle body is detachable from the upper bottle body. When it is desired to update the water in the vase, it is only necessary to detach the lower water-filled bottle body from the upper bottle body.

In a method and apparatus for packaging a horticultural product, especially cut flowers, for transportation, one or more stems are inserted through a flexible foam block formed from a low density, low compression force material disposed in an opening of container such that the foam is compressed. The compression of the foam forms a water-tight seal around each stem to prevent water or other liquid inside the container from leaking during shipment of the horticultural product and insulates each stem from each other stem. A tube may be placed in the foam block to provide fluid communication between an interior of the container and an exterior of the container.

An invertible embedded container system comprises a base unit, a vase unit, and a flange unit. The base unit and vase unit include open sides, such that the vase unit is received within the open side of the base unit. Inverting the container system is accomplished by selectively placing the vase unit into the base unit with the open side or closed side of the vase unit facing up. The flange unit attaches to the vase unit and covers any space between the vase unit and base unit. A device and method for preparing a vase or other container to receive a floral arrangement. The device includes a grid cover that is placed around the open end of a vase or similar container. The grid cover has a flat top surface and a peripheral wall that extends downwardly from the edge of the top surface. The grid cover is made of elastomeric material and is initially smaller than the open top of the vase. The grid cover is stretched over the open top of the vase, wherein the peripheral wall of the grid cover passes over the edge of the vase's open top and retains the stretched grid cover element in place. A plurality of openings are distributed throughout the top surface of the grid cover. As the grid cover is stretched over the top of a vase, the openings become positioned across the open top of the vase.

A tree ring that inhibits and/or prevents vegetation growth around the trunks of trees. The tree ring comprises an elastic outer peripheral edge and an elastic inner peripheral edge. In between elastic outer peripheral edge and the elastic inner peripheral edge is a flexible sheet. The flexible sheet has a plurality of holes. The tree ring is removably secured onto a tree pot of any dimension, size, or shape. The elastic outer peripheral edge stretches around the rim of the tree pot, and the elastic inner peripheral edge snugly fits around a tree trunk. It is noted that the distance between the elastic outer peripheral edge and the elastic inner peripheral edge that makes up flexible sheet may vary.

Optical fibers illuminate the flower display in a water-filled vase. The light source for the optical fibers is submerged in the water in the vase. The light source contains a battery, an on/off switch, a control circuit and at least one light emitting diode in a waterproof housing.

A container for connection to pole. The container includes a receptacle and a releasable clamp. The releasable clamp has a C-shape and is integrally molded with the receptacle of a shape memory material. The floral arrangement assembly generally includes a base unit having a plurality of receptacles, a plurality of tubular members removably positioned within the plurality of receptacles, a plurality of vessels positioned within the plurality of tubular members, and a plurality of retainers for securing the plurality of vessels to the plurality of tubular members. The tubular members and vessels are retained in a substantially upright position. The vessels are adapted to receive and retain a plurality of decorative flowers. The assembly may also be used without the base unit in one embodiment or without the vessels and retainers in another embodiment. The tubular members may additionally hold a plurality of decorative objects below the vessels for added décor. Further, a light may be positioned below the tubular members within the base unit for illuminating the assembly.

A wood-like molded product which is permitted to have wood-like features without using a natural wood material, and is usable as a bottle case to keep a wine bottle or the like inserted therein, and the like. The wood-like molded product includes: a cylindrical main body (2) which is made of a mixed material containing: fine cellulose powder particles (N) obtained from a wood material; and resin (P), and permits a bottle to be inserted thereinto; and a supporting member (3) provided in the cylindrical main body, to support a bottom face of the bottle inserted in the cylindrical main body.

The invention is directed toward a spill- and leak-proof container for floriculture items including cut flowers, stems, other horticultural items, and the like. More specifically, the invention includes a receptacle having funnel-like primary closure. The funnel-like primary closure includes a wider opening generally adjacent to and contiguous with the mouth of the receptacle. The narrower opening of the funnel-like primary closure is positioned in the interior of the receptacle. A secondary closure atop the wider opening of the primary closure ensures no liquid can spill.

A lid for a vase including a plate having a top and a bottom extending about a longitudinal axis. An opening extends between the top and the bottom at the longitudinal axis. The lid includes a plurality of movable flaps positioned on the top over the opening. A lid is designed to fit within the base and has a series of openings about its surface. The sleeves are made out of a pliable material for conforming to the shape of the stem while providing a tight fit. The bottom of the stems protrudes down into the base for water supply.

An assembly and method for decorating a monument is disclosed that may employ a theft deterrent locking device. The assembly may include a container that may be located and stored within a housing. The container may be generally oriented in two positions with respect to the housing, namely an upright, standing position and a lowered, stored position. The container may be lifted via a handle up through the housing into the upright, standing position. In the upright, standing position, the container may be locked to the housing from beneath a collar attached to the housing using a locking mechanism disclosed herein, such that the container may not be removed from the housing and may not be inverted. The container may be lowered and stored within the housing without inverting the container, when the container is no longer in use, such that the container may reside within the housing in a substantially flush manner with respect to a surrounding material.

The present invention provides a container including a housing with an opening and a wall. The wall includes an inner case 2 fitting into an outer case 1 while leaving a given distance therebetween to form first and second chambers. A device and method that uses the application of light to retard the wilting and spoilage of cut flowers. The lamps used can direct focused illumination in the targeted wavelengths known to positively and optimally affect the viability of different types of cut flowers, hi the most preferred embodiment, an LED light source is positioned to direct light upwardly toward the flowers, either from a base structure upon which a vase holding the flowers and having a transparent bottom surface is placed, or from a position within an opaque vase holding flowers that is substantially below the flower stems. Optionally, light can be directed from the side or overhead, but such a configuration is not optimal. Side-by-side testing confirms that flowers exposed to the light lasted more than a week longer than those not having the added illumination.

A universal underground receptacle for a cemetery flower vase cylinder is described wherein the receptacle is preferably comprised of recycled rubber tire material and is designed to receive a flower vase cylinder which has a vase ring attached to the upper end thereof so that a flower vase may be secured to the vase ring in either a display position or an inverted stored position.
