Problems solved by technology

However, due to the adoption of such measures, although the brightness of the light-emitting diode can be increased, as shown in FIG.
Moreover, the output level of the infrared light 10 is very unstable
Therefore, the sensitivity of the normal red light produced by the red light emitting diode 6 will vary by an average of 17% (up to 27% and down to 3%) in the photodiode 8, thereby causing the problem of unstable recognition of the banknote 5

Embodiment approach 1

[0019] Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view of an optical sensor unit of a banknote identification device according to Embodiment 1 of the present invention. In FIG. 1 , the banknote identification device of the present embodiment has a banknote conveyance path 22 provided continuously from the insertion port 21 of the banknote 5, and an optical sensor unit that detects characteristics of the banknote 5 passing through the banknote conveyance path 22. The signal of the optical sensor part is used for banknote identification.

[0020] The light sensor unit includes: a plurality of light sources 23 , 24 and 25 , which are arranged along the banknote conveyance path 22 and include at least one red light source 23 , and a photosensitive element 28 that receives light emitted from the red light source 23 . The red light source 23 is a light source that emits infrared light in addition to red light, and an infrared light elimination filter 29 for eliminating infrared light is inserted b...

Embodiment approach 2

[0032] 3 is a cross-sectional view of an optical sensor unit of the banknote identification device according to Embodiment 2 of the present invention. In FIG. 3 , in the banknote identification device of this embodiment, a substrate 122 is arranged on a wall surface of one side of a banknote conveyance path 121 . On the substrate 122, as light sources, surface mount type red light emitting diodes 123a, infrared light emitting diodes 124a, and blue light emitting diodes 125a are mounted in this order with the infrared light emitting diodes 124a at the center. Here, the red light-emitting diode 123a is a high-intensity red light-emitting diode, and emits infrared light as shown in FIG. 8 in addition to red light.

[0033] A funnel-shaped light guide 126 a is disposed between the banknote conveyance path 121 and the substrate 122 . The light guide 126a is made of transparent plastic, and is integrally formed with the mounting frame portions 127a and 127b for fixing on the bankno...

Abstract

This paper money identifying device is provided with a light source including a red light emitting diode 23 arranged along a paper money conveying path 22 and a photo-diode 26 for receiving lights emitted from the red light emitting diode 23. The red light emitting diode 23 is configured by using a light emitting diode which emits lights including not only red lights but also infrared rays, and inserting an infrared ray removing filter 29 which removes infrared rays between the red light emitting diode 23 and the photo-diode 26. Thus, it is possible to execute stable red detection.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a banknote identification device used in various automatic service machines such as automatic vending machines and ticket vending machines. Background technique [0002] First, a conventional banknote identification device will be described with reference to the drawings. Fig. 7 shows an optical sensor unit of a conventional banknote identification device. [0003] In FIG. 7 , on one side of the banknote conveyance path 1 , blue light emitting diodes 3 , infrared light emitting diodes 4 , and red light emitting diodes 6 are arranged via light guides 2 . On the other surface of the banknote transport path 1, a photodiode 8 is arranged via a light guide 7. As shown in FIG. With such a structure, it is possible to investigate the optical characteristics of the banknote 5 when the banknote 5 to be recognized passes in front of the photodiode 8 . [0004] That is, in the conventional banknote identification device shown i...
