Abstract

Socket connector applied to connection between chip module and circuit board includes body of connector and conducting terminal inside the body. The conducting terminal includes an installing part and an extending part extended from a side of the installing part. The extending part consists of first, second sections and free end. First contact part is between first and second sections, and second contact part is between second section and free end. When chip module pushes second contact part of conducting terminal down, the free end contacts the installing part so as to form first conducting path: from chip module through second contact part, first contact part to circuit board, as well as second conducting path: from chip module through the installing part, first contact part to circuit board. Since two conducting paths are in parallel, thus, electrical impedance between chip module and circuit board is reduced and connection is guaranteed.
