Embodiment Construction

[0021] It will be seen that the headset has two speakers 2, 3 connected by a headband 4 which is advantageously made of a permanently deformable material. The permanently deformable material may consist of a sandwich structure in the form of a laminate of at least two layers, preferably three layers formed of a plastic layer, a metal layer and a plastic layer, wherein the plastic layer may be thermoplastic rubber or other polyester material.

[0022] Typically, the laminate can be produced by embedding a metal layer in a plastic material. Wires between the speakers of the headset may also be embedded in the stack.

[0023] As indicated, at connection points 5, 6, the ends of the headband are secured to the loudspeakers.

[0024] One of the speakers, here the speaker 3, has a microphone 9 so as to communicate wirelessly via Bluetooth connected to a mobile phone or other communication device.

[0025] Although not shown, the box housing the speaker may contain, in addition to ...

Abstract

A headset (1) and a headphone has two speakers (2, 3) connected via a headband (4) and is configured such that the headset may be used as a conventional headset or as a stereo speaker set, where the speakers of the headband and the headset constitute supports against a substrate. The headband may expediently be made of a permanently deformable material in the form of a sandwich structure, which is constructed as three layers, or may be composed of one or more rotary joints or of one or more bistable joints, which provides many possible settings of the support against the substrate, of which there may be more than one. In addition, the headset may incorporate a DSP which is adapted to received signals from a sensor sensing whether the headset is used as a conventional headset or as a stereo speaker set, and, where appropriate, sets some ether electrical circuits incorporated in the headset, which regulate volume and transmission characteristics, automatically on the basis of the sensed signals.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to headphones consisting of two speakers connected to each other by a headband, wherein the speakers are rotatably connected to the headband, and wherein the headband, in addition to being capable of Instead of being placed on the user's head, it may also be placed on a substrate such that the speaker and headband form a point of support relative to the substrate. Background technique [0002] The present invention relates to headphones consisting of two speakers interconnected by a headband, wherein the speakers are movable relative to the headband, and wherein the headband can be placed on the user's In addition to being on the head, it can also be placed on a substrate so that the speaker and headband form a point of support relative to the substrate. [0003] UK Patent No. 1,044,819 describes a headset in which the speaker of the headset can be removed from the headset and inserted into the base so that the headset ca...
