Embodiment Construction

[0021] Referring to FIG. 1 , a crimping tool, generally designated 10 , in accordance with an illustrative embodiment of the present invention will now be described. The crimping tool 10 includes a vertically mounted hydraulic cylinder 12 supported at an upper end 14 on a frame 16 made of heavy structural steel or the like. A plunger 18 projects from a lower end 20 of the hydraulic cylinder 12 and is adapted for vertical movement relative thereto. A controllable source of hydraulic fluid and pressure 22 is interconnected with cylinder 12 via a control valve mechanism 24 and a pair of hoses 26 , 28 . The plunger 18 is reciprocated relative to the lower end 20 of the cylinder 12 by controlling the direction of flow of pressurized hydraulic fluid with a control valve 24 as is known in the art. In this regard, the control valve 24 is fitted with a control rod 30 for manually controlling the flow direction of the hydraulic fluid.

Abstract

A crimping tool used for interconnecting at least two stacked plate machinery made of extensible material comprises forcer and mould aligning to the forcer axially. The mould cave characteristic is in that its closed end has certain radial surface outline, thereby benefiting to material flowing into mould cave during crimping action. The design reduces processing material stress and reduces possible early processing failure at the same time, allows through forming fastness and distinguishable crimping portion crimping fastening thicker plate.
