Abstract

A mobile station power saving method comprises that a mobile station is switched from a low-power mode to an active mode and sends inquiry frame to the access point; the access point sends inquiry confirmation frame to the mobile station after receiving the inquiry frame and starts to timing; the access point judges whether any data needs to be sent to the mobile station; if any, the access point sends the data to the mobile station in the scheduled time; the mobile station enters into low-power mode after receiving all the data sent by the access point. The invention also discloses a mobile station power saving system by using the mobile station power saving method. The mobile station power saving system and the power saving method in the invention reduces the time of the mobile station entering the low-power mode and thus reducing the mobile station energy consumption, as each time the mobile station is connected with the access point, the access point sends data frame or frame without data indicated to the mobile station in the shortest time as is prescribed.
