The method predicts the current macro-block by choosing a provision mode, and combines a beforehand adjudication guideline of a zero block and a grain complexity pre-selecting block size guideline, to gain the best predication mode of the macro-block. The method can remarkably reduce the computational complexity of the coder while the bit rate and the image quality are maintained, and can be used in real time coding.
