Problems solved by technology

But this method is limited to those polyesters that actually have these unsaturated units
[0008] Although amino-terminated polyesters are useful ingredients for formulations of coatings, adhesives and printing inks (Druckfarbe), they often have the following disadvantages: The first disadvantage lies in the preparation, where high temperatures lead to discoloration
A second disadvantage lies in the limited storage stability of the aforementioned products, since the free amino groups tend to attack the still remaining ester groups and liberate the alcohol in the case of amidation

Embodiment 1

[0033]Melt 90 g of Dynacoll 7390 at 110°C and add 10 g of DETA under nitrogen. After vigorous stirring for 10 min, the mixture was cooled and the amine number determined (titration with 1 N HCl using bromophenol blue). The amine number has dropped from the initial 163 to 55 mg KOH / g (calculated, one residual amino group should have a remaining amine number of 57 mg KOH / g). To determine the storage stability, the product was kept at 40°C for 4 weeks and the amine number was determined again. After these times the amine number was 54 mg KOH / g. The product has a slight yellowish discoloration.

Embodiment 2

[0035] 90 g of Oxyester T 1136 were heated to 110° C. and mixed with 10 g of DETA under nitrogen. After vigorous stirring for 60 minutes, the mixture was cooled and the amine number determined (titration with 1 N HCl using bromophenol blue). The amine number has dropped from an initial 163 to 64 mg KOH / g (calculated, one residual amino group should have a remaining amine number of 57 mg KOH / g). To determine the storage stability, the product was kept at 40°C for 4 weeks and the amine number was determined again. After these times the amine number was 60 mgKOH / g. The product has a slight yellowish discoloration.

Embodiment 3

[0037] Dissolve 97.5 g of Dynapol L411 in 185 g of HA200ND / methoxypropyl acetate (1:1), heat to 110° C., and mix in 2.5 g of DETA under nitrogen protection. After vigorous stirring for 180 min, the mixture was cooled and the amine number determined (titration with 1 N HCl using bromophenol blue). The amine number has been reduced from the initial 33 to 12 mg KOH / g (calculated, one residual amino group should have a remaining amine number of 13.5 mg KOH / g). To determine the storage stability, the product was kept at 40°C for 4 weeks and the amine number was determined again. After 4 weeks it was still 12 mg KOH / g.

[0038] All amine numbers in this example have been extrapolated to 100% solids. The product has a slight yellowish discoloration.

Abstract

The present invention relates to polyester containing amino group, more concretely, the invention relates to one or a plurality of polyesters modified by polyamine, wherein the polyamine comprises at least one primary amino group and at least one secondary amino group. The invention also relates to a manufacturing method and use thereof of the polyester.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to polyesters modified with one or more polyamines having at least one primary and at least one secondary amino group, a process for their preparation and their use. Background technique [0002] Polyesters are a general and versatile class of polymers whose properties and methods of preparation are well documented. The reaction of polyesters or their starting materials with amines is likewise known. [0003] US 5,672,676 describes the reaction of molten dicarboxylic acids, diols and diamines. However, it only uses primary amines and there are no detectable amines in the final product. [0004] WO 2003 / 078502 describes the reaction of polyesters with nitrogen-containing components such as amines. The above reactions involve the modification of thermoplastic polyesters, thereby affecting the crystallization temperature and rheology. Analysis showed that the ethylenediamine used in the examples was completely intercalated in the...
