Embodiment approach

[0276] The sealing cap (1) comprises a conical skirt (5), which in a preferred embodiment is substantially frusto-conical. It should be noted that in an alternative embodiment, the skirt (5) may be pyramid-shaped with three or more sides. The size of the skirt (5) depends on where it will seal. This size will be determined by the size and appearance of any existing fittings, or by the size of the hole through which the pipe (2) will pass.

[0277] A flange ( 7 ) extends outwardly from the bottom or lower periphery of the upper end portion 5 . The upper portion 5 (or "skirt") may be a complete cone with the highest point (14), such as Figure 3b As shown, the taper includes annular markings (13) at different heights surrounding the taper, which indicate the point from which the user should cut in order to make a hole adapted to the particular size of the elongated member (2) . The marker (13) may additionally include markings to indicate the specific diameter or size that m...

Abstract

The disclosure relates to a peripheral sealing gland to form a seal, between an elongate member and a substantially flat surface. The gland has an at least in part tapered skirt or frustoconical shaped skirt through which the elongate member is to pass and defining at the upper periphery of the skirt and deformable upper seal to deform about and seal to a periphery of said elongate member. A flange depends from the lower periphery of the skirt including on its outward from the skirt presented surface, at least one endless lip to seal when brought into contact, against said substantially flat surface. A compression ring is able to bear on said flange, to be fastened to said substantially flat surface to capture the flange therebetween. In an alternative embodiment a planar flange with at least one endless lip seal is disclosed, and a further alternative embodiment combines this with the frusto-conical shaped skirt.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to sealing covers, in particular but not exclusively to such sealing covers for sealing joints formed between and around elongate members, such as pipes having substantially flat surfaces, such as walls, ceilings or floors, or such Another tube through which the tube can pass. Background technique [0002] Special requirements for clean areas such as food handling areas, biologically sensitive areas, or other areas that require a clean seal require a seal that is easy to clean, easy to use, easy to perform, and compatible with pipes and walls The sealing joint is adapted and the seal is made of an inert and chemically resistant material so as not to contaminate the surrounding environment and resist cleaning etc. The same criteria apply when sealing a tube to another tube through which it may pass. The other tube may be an outer sleeve, such as a rebound tube, to prevent damage to the inner tube. Such assemblies are oft...
