Embodiment Construction

[0052] figure 1 The graft shown in is generally indicated with reference number 1 and the intestine will be described by way of example only, however it is intended to be used with any other body vessel within the scope of the invention.

[0053] figure 1 Shown is a substantially tubular graft 1 having an axially outer ring part 2, an axially inner part 3 consisting of a middle part 4 and a fixation part 5 extending from the opposite side of the outer ring part 2. The ends of the middle part 4 extend radially at an angle α of approximately 90°.

[0054] Adjacent to the middle part 4 along the inner diameter of the outer ring part 2 is provided with ingrowth means 6 . In this embodiment, the axial height of the ingrowth means 6 is smaller than the axial height of the outer ring portion 2 , leaving a disorganized edge portion 7 and outermost edge 8 . The ingrowth device 6 is shown as a mesh 9 with holes 10 . It should be noted that the dimensions of the pores in the mesh or ...

Abstract

An implant (1; 18; 19; 30; 43 ) serves for percutaneous implantation through the abdominal wall for encircling and engaging an externalised length of a body duct (23) of a human or animal patient. The implant (1; 18; 19; 30; 43) is of the kind comprising an exterior ring section (2; 31) protruding outwardly from the abdominal wall (27, 28) with a free end (7, 8, 10), which serves for mounting of a detachable device, and an interior section (3; 33) extending through the abdominal wall (27, 28) and inside the patient for internal fixation of the implant (1; 18; 19; 33; 43), and the exterior ring section (2; 31) and the interior section (3;33) have a common axis. The internal circumference of at least a part of the exterior ring section (2;31) above the interior section (3;33) is arranged with a biocompatible, integrated ingrowth means (6; 6'; 35) for the exterior surface (26) of the body duct (23) wall.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a graft for percutaneous implantation through the abdominal wall for encircling and engaging an externalized length of body duct of a human or animal patient, said graft being of the type comprising an outer ring and an inner portion, At least a portion of the outer ring protrudes outwardly from the abdominal wall with a free end for installation of a detachable device, the inner portion extends through the abdominal wall and into the interior of the patient for internal fixation of the implant, and the outer The ring and the interior have a common axis. [0002] Also provided is a method for manufacturing a graft according to the invention. [0003] Together with preferred uses, methods for implanting a graft according to the invention in an animal or human are described. Background technique [0004] Many diseases such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, bowel cancer and adenomatous polyposis or bladder cancer r...
